Steven Zeitler - Youth Programming Director/ Adviser
Hi, my name is Steven Zeitler and I am the Youth Programming Director/ Adviser for the USY chapter at Temple Emeth. I am a fourth generation member of Temple Emeth as well as a recent college graduate of Roger Williams University.
Here at Temple Emeth, our vision for our youth community is clear, to engage and embrace every Jewish child who comes in contact with our synagogue. Our youth program offers a safe and caring environment that fosters the creation of Jewish identities thru social, cultural, educational and religious activities, allowing Emeth kids the opportunity to meet other Jewish kids from New England and beyond along the way. Our Youth groups are affiliated with United Synagogue Youth and we are a member of its New England region (NERUSY). Emeth youth groups are organized into three different age levels categorized by grade: Kadima – Grade 4-5, Junior USY – Grade 6-8 and Senior USY – Grade 9-12.

Sam Platcow - Chapter President
Hey everybody! My name is Sam Platcow. I am your current Emeth USY President. I have been part of Emeth USY and USY as a whole for 10 years now. In USY I have met a LOT of new and interesting people. This is my third year on the board and it is my second as president. In USY you have the opportunity to do a lot of amazing things and as a Junior I am in the middle of it all. USY events are nuts, there’s a lot of stuff to do and a lot of people that you can meet and they certainly prove to me that each event is different even if you continue going to the same event every year in row. When I’m not at events I enjoy sailing, skiing and eating felafel!
Cameron Pearl - Israel Affairs VP (I/A)
Hi I am Cameron Pearl, your Israel Affairs VP, and I am currently a junior attending Wellesley High School. This has been my first year participating in USY, and I love it because it gives me a way to connect with others Jews and friends. This year I have also started to get into Israel advocacy, and have attended events like National Summit, High school Summit and Policy Conference. I have lobbied Joe Kennedy III the representative for the fourth district of Massachusetts.

Sam Sharon - SATO VP (Social Action/ Tikkun Olam)
Hi, my name is Sam and I'm our chapter SATO VP! I started USY in 2011, going to the occasional event with a few friends. Then I quickly made friends with other USYers from across the region, finding myself feeling among friends at any regional USY event. I was soon invited to be on the Emeth USY chapter board which led to me meeting even more people! Now I can go to any regional event and find myself a large group of bros and females to talk with and feel at home with them. Never in a million years would I miss the chance to party it up or enrich my Jewish identity with my loving USY community. And although my busy schedule limits the amount of events I go to, I would never completely stop doing USY because I could never think of ditching my favorite "hebrews and shebrews." I'd recommend USY to any Jewish teen out there, because it's an offer to be part of a community that's not worth passing up.
